Hi Quilters! Mark your calendars! Home Grown Quilt is hosting a Catching The Dream Event in Lewiston!! Date: Saturday, October 10th Starting at 9am   Every attendee will make a really cool Dream Catcher, using a Husqvarna Viking Epic 2. There will be a trunk show from our Event Instructor, Darrelle Anderson from Spokane (yay!), and she will also teach a ton of techniques. Machines will be provided and kits for our project will be available and are included in cost of your seat for the event. This is an all day event, lunch and snacks provided. We only have 12 spots available, so be sure to reserve your spot ASAP! Event cost per person is only $75! ------------------------------------------------------------------------  QUILT SHOW!! The Sew-ciety Quilt guild is having their bi-annual quilt show in Grangeville on Sept 26 & 27 (Saturday: 10-5, Sunday:11-4) THEY NEED YOUR QUILTS! Bring your quilt to be showcased at the quilt show to either Home Grown Quilts or Your Best Friend's Quilt shop NO LATER than Wednesday Sept 23rd.  And while you are here, purchase some raffle tickets to their guild's gorgeous quilt- Autumn Jewels. $1 each or 6 for $5 ------------------------------------------- As classes start back up again we are asking you to please respect people's personal bubbles and be socially responsible. A few things with classes to be mindful of: *If you have your project cut out- you will be able to spend class time learning and working on your project, rather than spending all of your time cutting. You will be much more excited about your projects if you are a bit more prepared.  * Classes are a retreat- for a lot of people it's therapy of sorts. It's a time to have fun, learn together, and relax (unless you have a seam ripper in hand.) - Please be respectful of your fellow retreaters. While we love kids, and we have lots of them ourselves- most small children (such as toddlers/pre-k) seem to find our classes a bit boring. We have had some class members vocalize the frustration it brings when a relaxing class gets not so relaxing because of small people being unhappy or bored.  Let's let everyone have a happy experience! Unless a child is an active participant of the class, please try and find a different place for them to hang out.    Fiber Friends Gathering Grangeville: Saturday, September 12th @ 10-1 Host:  Megan Parsons Class Fee: FREE Come join us for just a fun and FREE no-host open day for you to engage with like-minded folks such as: Knitters Crocheters Spinners Tatters Weavers Felters Bring your crocheting, knitting, tatting, weaving, felting, and anything in-between.  Share your knowledge and skills with each other, ask questions, engage in conversation, and learn new things!  We will offer Fiber Friends at least monthly. Beginning Quilting Class (6 week course)  Lewiston Location:  Daytime Class Starting Wednesday September 9th @ 10am-1pm Evening Class Starting Monday September 14th @ 5:15-8:15 Grangeville Location:  Evening Class Starting Wednesday September 16th @ 5:15-8:15 Instructor: Jody Hoogland and Gayle Shaad Class Fee: $75 + Supplies (Comes with a complimentary 6 month Class Pass) Call the shop for more details! 208-983-0254 Yay!  The Beginning Quilting Course is here again!  Students will learn step-by-step how to construct a quilt, including selecting fabrics for your quilt project, piecing, borders, binding, and even machine quilting (stitch in the ditch).  Come to Home Grown Quilts to see samples of the quilt you will be making!  NOTE:  Students must know how to use their sewing machines prior to class starting.  It is also highly recommended that students bring a quarter inch foot and a walking foot to class.  See class handout for further information. Sew Organized Class Grangeville: Friday September 18th@ 5:30-8:30 Lewiston: Thursday October 8th @ 10:30-1:30 Instructor:  Breezi Kohrman  Class Fee: $10 (or FREE with class pass) + Supplies  A cute practical way to organize your sewing essentials and have them right at your fingertips. Comes together easily. This would make a great gift! Christmas Fun Quilt Class Grangeville: Saturday September 26th @ 10-3 Instructor:  Breezi Kohrman  Class Fee: $10 (or FREE with class pass) + Supplies  Yes, it's time to think of Christmas projects.... This super cute twin size cute is fun and festive for the holidays. Simple piecing and chain stitching makes this come together quick! You'll love this! Better Not Pout Applique Class  Grangeville:Saturday October 17th @ 10-2 Instructor:  DeAnn Rauzi Class Fee: $10 (or FREE with class pass) + Supplies  Pick a project- Hand Towel or Wall Hanging- from the adorable new Better Not Pout book from Nancy Halverson. You will learn simple applique techniques that will make you look like a pro!  Hip Chicks Quilt Class  Lewiston:  Tuesday October 20th @ 10:30-2:30 Instructor: Breezi Kohrman Class Fee: $10 (or FREE with class pass) + Supplies  This darling quilt has super cute 3D elements  to it- and fun peek-a-boo prairie points. Super easy with lots of fun.   Beginning Paper Piecing Class Grangeville: Saturday, October 24th @ 9:30-3 Instructor:  Lynelle Buxton Class Fee: $25( or $15 with class pass) + Supplies  Come have Lynelle guide you through the art of paper piecing by making this adorable wall hanging or table topper. Stop by the Lewiston shop and see the super cute variations she has whipped up. It's amazing how different the same thing can become with a twist of fabric choices. Simple Sack Bag Class  Lewiston:  Tuesday October 27th @ 10:30-2 Instructor:  Breezi Kohrman  Class Fee: $10 (or FREE with class pass) + Supplies  These handy eco friendly shopping bags are quick to make, sturdy, and fold up into a convenient pouch.
