October/November Details




FALL SHOP HOP is coming Fri/Sat, October 12th & 13th!  Save the date and plan a fun road trip with your BFF’s!  Seven shops will be participating in this event:

We have been having a complete blast in our shop.  If you haven’t come in to see our new roomy classroom yet, come on in to see what the fuss is all about!  We have a great line up of classes this fall, and offer Saturday, daytime and evening classes.  If you see a class you would like to take but can’t make the timeframe, check with us to see if we can plan the class to meet your schedule.

CREATE YOUR OWN CLASS
Have a project idea or quilting technique you want to learn but is not offered? Gather 3 or more of your friends and we will organize the class for you and provide an instructor. Be creative! Any and all ideas will be considered.

Beginning Quilt Class Series
These are the last classes of a 6 class series.  In the Beginning Quilt Class course, you will make either a lap or crib sized quilt using the new skills and techniques that we will teach you.  We plan to offer Beginning Quilting Classes quarterly.  If you or someone you know have been wanting to learn to quilt, stay tuned for our next series around January/February.  We will have daytime and evening classes available.

Crochet Club
For beginners and beyond!  Meet with us monthly for great tips and techniques as well as start a crochet project.

Sew-Cial
Bring your quilt, crochet, applique, needle punch…or whatever your project may be and come sew with us!  We are known to make a hot loaf of yummy bread with ohhhhh so delicious honey butter to enjoy!

Braids on Parade Quilt class
This is a gorgeous quilt, and fun to put together. It is suggested to use a Trapezoid Strip Ruler to make your project easier to accomplish

Tea Garden Quilt Class
And how does one do a Tea Garden Quilt Class you ask?  Why, with a traditional Tea Party of course!  Join us for tea and crumpets and a fun quilt class of simple flower squares and green leaves create a vibrant garden against a dramatic background. Mix and match four flower fabrics and three leaf fabrics for an organized scrappy garden of blooms. Use the Creative Grids Lazy Angle Ruler to cut all pieces.
Class Fee:  $20 + supplies
Finished Size: 60” X 72”
Skill Level: Accomplished Beginner

Bracelet Stringing Class 
Class Fee: $30
Join Holly Cox in making some beautiful bracelets that we are sure you're going to love to wear, show off, or even give as gifts. You'll leave the class with 2-3 bracelets ready to go home with you.

Mixed Media Paint Class (pumpkin scene)

Join Judi Vrieling for another amazing class creating a one-of-a-kind masterpiece on canvas!  As with all Art ...there is no "right or wrong way" ...just your way ... so exploring the possibilities of canvas can be fun and exciting when one lets go of the "expectations" and simply surrenders to the process of playful discovery... so lets play with canvas!  For 11 year olds to adults.

Applique Baltimore Blocks Classes
Class Fee:  $10 each class + supplies
Skill Level: Beginner +

Have you admired Baltimore Album style quilts or other quilts with hand –applique elements in them but felt intimidated to try the process yourself or maybe just didn’t know where to begin your journey into the world of hand applique?  Well fear not; the time has come for you to take your first steps into hand- applique while making a cherished wall hanging.  We will be using the new book by Mimi Dietrich, “Baltimore Blocks for Beginners – A Step-by-Step Guide”. Ms. Dietrich has been teaching Baltimore Album applique classes for three decades and is the author of many best-selling quilt books.  She has written this book to take the beginner through the techniques and elements of a very basic applique block.  So pack up a “Travel Bag” with some basic applique tools and supplies and choose some luscious fabrics to take along on your “Journey” as we go exploring in the “Land of Applique”! Book required.

Cathie Orr will be teaching you how to machine quilt (aka…sew fancy stitches on your finished quilt or table runners).  You will be glad you took this class!

Martingale Book Club
Martingale is a publisher specializing in books and patterns on quilting, sewing, knitting, crochet, and crafts.  Each month we receive a shipment of brand new items from Martingale, as well as from other distributors.  This club will meet monthly, and it is FREE. Join us anytime during these hours for a preview of new books that come in during the month….you will be the 1st to see them! Club members will receive 20% off books and supplies to make projects in the books. Discount only good during Book Club hours. We are a Super Stitcher Shop!
It’s easy to participate in our Super Stitcher program—and it’s FREE to you! Here’s how it works:
1.     As a Super Stitcher member, we’ll automatically give you a free Super Stitcher stamp card.

ELF DAYS/EVES!
Come and do as many make n’ takes as you would like!  We will have a variety of fast,easy, inexpensive and ready-to-assemble projects for you.  These projects will be excellent for gifts for family and friends.  No signing up is required…when the project kits are gone, they are gone.  Come anytime during the hours specified, and no need to bring a sewing machine.  Some of the projects that will be available are:

Turkey Table Runner
This is a Quilt in a Day project by Eleanor Burns.  The turkeys are fun to make and are so darn cute!  Who doesn’t want a turkey on their dining or living room tables?
Class Fee:  $10 + pattern and supplies.  Pattern includes its own 4-1/2in on point ruler

Lil Twister Wreath Class
This class is full, however we will be having a second class and can put you on the waiting list.  Make SURE that if you signed up for the class that you pay for it so you can keep your spot!

Lil Twister Apron Class
Fun, Fast and Easy!   The book we will be using is the Let’s Twist, featuring a dozen patterns From an apron to table runners and quilts using both sizes and using both the Lil' Twister and the Twister.  We will be making the apron in this class, and they are adorable!   Choose to sign up for either the evening or day class.
Class Fee:  $10 + pattern, ruler and supplies
Skill Level: Beginner +

Lil Twister Stocking Class
A nine months to Quilt diversion. This great stocking project can be filled to the brim.  Both sturdy and whimsical sure to be a hit.  We will provide a fun step-by-step use of the Lil Twister tool (LILTWISTER). You can choose between two style options.  Stockings measure 12-1/2in x 19in.
Class Fee:  $10 + pattern, ruler and supplies
Skill Level: Beginner +

Guy Night!  We will host a lovely shopping experience for your guys on Dec 19, 20 & 21.  Here’s the deal:
1)    Come in and complete a Wish List card, which we will keep in a file here at the shop.
