March-May Class list with Pictures

The Quilt Pink blocks were such a success.  We received 32 out of 40 blocks back, which is enough to make 2 quilts to raffle off for our local Relay For Life.  Woohoo!  If you still have a block to make and would like to include it with the blocks for the quilts, bring it by…we’d love to use it.  Our winner of the pair of tickets to The Associations concert was Kathy Warford, who absolutely loved the concert!

Quilting Bee!
Home Grown Quilts has started a Quilting Bee at our local Nursing Home.  If you are between the ages of 4 to 104, we would love for you to join us in hand stitching a quilt on a frame.  You will love the story sharing, laughing, stitching, and getting to know the nursing home residents.

Strip Poker

We started a new activity in January.....  STRIP POKER!

Oh goodness, it's a blast. For a $10 entry fee- we gather round a table and play for strips of fabric.

Everyone brings a potluck item to share, some fabric strips, and your poker face.....  and if you run out of strips we have some available to purchase for a discounted rate of a-buck-a-piece.

We hope to turn this into a big thing, as it just is a great evening full of entertainment (and no cheating).

Just picture all the fun jelly roll quilts you could make with your spoils of war!

Who's in for next month?

Special Christmas Gifts

Mrs. Wisdom, a local teacher here- wanted to let the students in her class make a very special Christmas gift for their families this year.

The kiddos were able to come to Home Grown Quilts on a 'field trip', pick out fabric, and then went back to school to create their projects.

We were able to go to the school to see what they made, adorable wall hangings! Isn't that impressive?!  These 4th & 5th grade kids are amazingly talented.

What a wonderful teacher they have, and lucky families too.

Thanks for letting us be apart of this project, Mrs. Wisdom! We cherished every moment of being with your students.

June Cleaver Fashion Show

This past year we had a June Cleaver Fashion Show -  along with a tea party to go with it.

Ohh my goodness, it was so much fun!! Everyone got to model some aprons, eat delicious treats, and giggle until our sides burst.

Below are some pictures of the fun:

Elayne Murphy, our Knitting Club Instructor, donated a beaded knit bag for the door prize for our June Cleaver Fashion Show. Deanne (shown above) is the winner of that bag- and she was visiting us all the way from Kansas!  Lucky!

It's a Wrap

Our friend Ann Wilponen came to visit us and was able to teach us how to make adorable fabric baskets with an 'It's a Wrap' pattern.

They were so fun!

Here are some pictures from our evening:
