Mark Your Calendars for our up coming SHOP HOP!
Wednesday, Aug 9th- Saturday, Aug 12

Look for more details coming soon!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Don't forget to mark on your calendar - Sept. 9th we are having our Bi-Annual Quilt Walk! Such a fun event hanging quilts all up and down main street. Get those projects done so you can enter them to show!

Speaking of the quilt walk... it is time to unveil the Quilt Walk Challenge.

In previous years we have had a pattern that everyone follows using their own fabrics-  This year we have a different spin.
This year we discovered we have an artist here in our own back yard!
Cori Dantini from Pullman, WA is a fantastic artist full of whimsy and magic. She was found by the Free Spirit Fabric company and asked if her art could be printed onto fabric.
We got our hands onto some fabric from her Here Kitty Kitty fabric line as well as some of her basic blender fabrics (Seeds and Scalloped Hills)..... She used the rolling wheat fields of the Palouse as her inspiration for her Scalloped Hills blender line.

We love the idea of supporting someone in our corner of the world!

Here is the challenge: Come into our Grangeville quilt shop location. You may take ONE piece of Cori's Here Kitty Kitty Fat Quarter bundle and ONE piece of either her Seeds or Scalloped Hills blender line to go along with her Here Kitty Kitty fabric.  With your two Fat Quarters you need to make anything you want that will then be displayed near Cori's booth at the quilt walk.
The sky is the limit.
Wall hangings, quilts, bags, decorative pillows, clothing, etc.
Add extra fabric to make something bigger, or keep it just to those two fat quarters. Your choice.

There is no cost to have the two fat quarters, however if you take them you are committed to make something with them for us to display on Sept 9th.
We have THREE fat quarters left of the main fabric for you to choose from!

We can't wait to see what you make with all of your fun creativeness!

EVERY TUESDAY IS FREE OPEN SEW DAY AT BOTH HOME GROWN QUILTS LOCATIONS!! 10AM- 5PM!!!

Classes
NOTE:  All class supplies purchased through Home Grown Quilts is 15% off with your paid class fee…sweet deal right?

A few things with classes to be mindful of:
*If you have your project cut out- you will be able to spend class time learning and working on your project, rather than spending all of your time cutting. You will be much more excited about your projects if you are more prepared.
Classes are a retreat- for a lot of people it's therapy of sorts. It's a time to have fun, learn together, and relax (unless you have a seam ripper in hand.) - Please be respectful of your fellow retreaters. While we love kids, and we have lots of them ourselves- most small children (such as toddlers/pre-k) seem to find our classes a bit boring. We have had some class members vocalize the frustration it brings when a relaxing class gets not so relaxing because of small people being unhappy or bored.  Let's let everyone have a happy experience! Unless a child is an active participant of the class, please try and find a different place for them to hang out.

Kimberbell Clear Blue Tiles- In the Hoop-  Quilting
Grangeville: Friday August, 4th @ 10-4
                     Instructor:   Tindy Hunter
Class Fee: $10 (or FREE with class pass) + Supplies

Using the House Seasonal Runner, we will use the Kimberbell Clear Blue Tiles to quilt our project.
**Or if you don't want to make the runner bring a project that you need quilted! **

So…What Are Clear Blue Tiles?

Clear Blue Tiles are a complete system for quilting on your home embroidery machine. The stitching goes through all three layers of a quilt sandwich (back fabric, batting, and top fabric), with traditional, continuous quilting on both sides of your project. Clear Blue Tiles help you (easily!) achieve the look of custom quilting in-the-hoop, without having to worry about math formulas or carefully lining up the elements of a design. It all just flows, like you’d used a long-arm machine!

And all you do is place your tile(s), mark your fabric, and choose the embroidery file to match the size. Clear Blue Tiles have the same scale as all of the coordinating embroidery designs, so you can use a variety of tiles on the same project for professional, finished results.

Kimberbell's exclusive background quilting designs include swirls, loops, border swirls, border loops, and delightful variations for winter, spring, summer, and fall. Also included are six “Bitty Blocks,” 2×2” designs that can be used in corners or as fun surprises in your quilting. With all of the designs and file sizes, there are 372 total quilting files included on the Clear Blue Tiles USB, and the Seasonal Table Runner gives you the chance to discover and delight in all the possibilities.
