Wedding Ring and Paper Bags

Hi Quilters!

The Wedding Ring Class we are offering in Lewiston and Grangeville are for any of the Quiltworx Wedding Ring patterns- including the Wedding Star. All ring sets of any of the Quiltworx patterns are the same for the first class and the second class will focus on other parts of the quilt.

If you have a different pattern in mind that you want to make other than the Grandma's wedding ring class, please let us know so we can order the pattern ASAP.

Let us tell you about our instructor Rebecca Alter-
Rebecca made her first quilt at the age of 8 when her grandmother handed her a stack of 3” squares cut out from a cardboard template.  She sewed them into a small quilt and was taught how to tie tack the quilt together with yarn.  Over the years she has dabbled in just about every kind of quilting and in 2015, she signed up, last minute, for a retreat in Montana with Judy Niemeyer and had never done a Judy quilt before.  She finished her first Judy quilt at that retreat and was hooked.  Since then, she has been teaching in her local quilt shop and demonstrating Judy techniques at guild meetings and retreats.  She loves to teach and wants to help you achieve your quilting goals whether it is to create a masterpiece or to just have fun.  In addition to working to become a Certified Quiltworx Instructor, Rebecca is involved with her local Quilts of Valor group and makes quilts for the local hospital maternity unit.  She finishes her own quilts using ruler work and free motion techniques on her domestic home machine and her dream is to someday own a long arm.  To date she has completed 10 Judy Niemeyer quilts with many more tops just waiting to be quilted.
Rebecca has a very unique view of quilting.  Quilting is meant to be fun and mistakes are not fun so we do not make mistakes when quilting.  Although there are no mistakes in quilting there are many unintentional creative deviances from the intended pattern and Rebecca will be here to help you through those.  She will help you get back to the original pattern or work around the deviances.  Whether you want to create a work of art or a work of love she is willing to help you from pattern and color choices to finishing techniques.

March Viking Deals, Classes, and more!

Hi Quilters!

Welcome to a new month! This year is flying by fast. We can't wait for some springtime color to come. Don't forget to sign up for the UFO challenge and some classes.

We're doing a UFO (un-finished objects) Challenge in both locations!  If one of your goals for the New Year is to wrap up some unfinished projects, we're here to help! The UFO Challenge begins February 1st and runs through April 30th . Each of those three months bring in up to 3 UFO's no later than the 10th to register them for $1 each. Return with any or all of them completed by the last day of the month and for each one finished your name will be entered into a drawing. We'll draw a name each month and the winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to the shop! Just think.... if you play for all three months you could finish up to nine projects!

For quilters, UFOs may be quilts, table runners, or wall hangings or purses, etc... - no size restrictions. For knitters and crocheters, anything unfinished on the day of registration is eligible.
Quilters: Take 15% off batting and backing fabric if you purchase those items for your UFO on the day you register. Knitters/ Crocheters: Take 10% off anything you purchase on the day you register your projects.
We  look forward to seeing what everyone brings in for the challenge!

This compact kit is perfect for changing baby on the go. The attractive wallet style clutch unfolds into a large, padded changing pad with plenty of pockets to store all the essentials. The pad removes for easy laundering or to allow the clutch to be used separately. An outer zippered pocket holds personal items and a handy flap closes the folded clutch keeping everything contained.

You can also make the fabric  of your choice into vinyl fabric to make the pad have an easy clean option. We'll show you how!

The clutch and the pad need to be quilted in order to have a better result. Since this takes time, we are offering a seperate time slot on Thursday, April 26th from 5:30-8 to come and do the quilting. If you don't have this pre-class homework completed and choose to spend your class time quilting your changing station, you won't get very far on finishing your project in class. We will be showing techniques on straight line quilting, free motion quilting, and also using the Westalee Quilting Rulers. There are many options, so don't be afraid to try them!  If this date doesn't work for your schedule, please call us and we can make arrangements for you to get quilting instructions at another time. 983-0254
