Wedding Ring and Paper Bags

Hi Quilters!

The Wedding Ring Class we are offering in Lewiston and Grangeville are for any of the Quiltworx Wedding Ring patterns- including the Wedding Star. All ring sets of any of the Quiltworx patterns are the same for the first class and the second class will focus on other parts of the quilt.

If you have a different pattern in mind that you want to make other than the Grandma's wedding ring class, please let us know so we can order the pattern ASAP.

Let us tell you about our instructor Rebecca Alter-
Rebecca made her first quilt at the age of 8 when her grandmother handed her a stack of 3” squares cut out from a cardboard template.  She sewed them into a small quilt and was taught how to tie tack the quilt together with yarn.  Over the years she has dabbled in just about every kind of quilting and in 2015, she signed up, last minute, for a retreat in Montana with Judy Niemeyer and had never done a Judy quilt before.  She finished her first Judy quilt at that retreat and was hooked.  Since then, she has been teaching in her local quilt shop and demonstrating Judy techniques at guild meetings and retreats.  She loves to teach and wants to help you achieve your quilting goals whether it is to create a masterpiece or to just have fun.  In addition to working to become a Certified Quiltworx Instructor, Rebecca is involved with her local Quilts of Valor group and makes quilts for the local hospital maternity unit.  She finishes her own quilts using ruler work and free motion techniques on her domestic home machine and her dream is to someday own a long arm.  To date she has completed 10 Judy Niemeyer quilts with many more tops just waiting to be quilted.
Rebecca has a very unique view of quilting.  Quilting is meant to be fun and mistakes are not fun so we do not make mistakes when quilting.  Although there are no mistakes in quilting there are many unintentional creative deviances from the intended pattern and Rebecca will be here to help you through those.  She will help you get back to the original pattern or work around the deviances.  Whether you want to create a work of art or a work of love she is willing to help you from pattern and color choices to finishing techniques.
