Quilting Bee!
Home Grown Quilts is sponsoring a Quilting Bee at our local Nursing Home.  If you are between the ages of 4 to 104, we would love for you to join us in hand stitching a quilt on a frame.  You will love the story sharing, laughing, stitching, and getting to know the nursing home residents.

MONTHLY PURSENALITIES CLUB! 
We are offering fun monthly bag/purse/tote classes the 1st Monday evening of each month.  Our pursenalities classes will always be $10 each, HOWEVER the more Pursenalities classes you take, the more you save.  For example:
Pursenalities class #1 = $10, class #2 = $9, class #3 = $8…etc., until your 11th and 12th classes are FREE!  Here are the upcoming Pursenalities classes:
 

JULY:  Bitty Bag Class
Mon, July 7th @ 5:30pm to 8:30pm

Quilters Strip Poker Night!
Every 3rd  Friday of each month, 5:30-8:30pm
Head Stripper:  Jody Hoogland
Poker Night Fee:  $10
MUST sign up prior to Poker Night to ensure your spot.  Put on your poker face, pull your hat down low and let’s start strippin’!  We will play poker using jelly roll strips as our ‘ante’.  You can bring your own fabric strips or you can purchase them at Home Grown Quilts for a buck-a-piece.  This is also a Potluck evening, so bring your favorite yummy dish of something to share.  Fun for everyone!

12 MONTHS OF CHRISTMAS classes!!


On the last Tuesday of each month, look for a Christmas project to make.  By the time Christmas arrives, you will already be prepared with lots of finished Christmas things…Boom! 
  • In ADDITION to our 12 Months of Christmas classes, we will be revealing the NEW Christmas fabrics that come in each month during the class.  Students may preview and purchase the new fabric at a 20% discount during class.  Woohoo!

SEPTEMBER:  White Stocking
Tue, Sept 30th @ 5:30 to 8:30pm

This is a very special Christmas Stocking, all made with white on whites.  The purpose of that is to hang the white stocking hung in your home as a symbol for your family of the true meaning of Christmas � the Savior, The Lord Jesus. There is a really neat poem that we will laminate for you to hang with your stocking, which ends in….”So take your white stocking and hang it with pride, Remember the Savior, put his gift inside”. This is a great stocking is made using the Lil’ Twister tool.

Rickrack Quilt Class

Mon, June 30th  @ 5:30pm to 8:30pm

This is a quick, fun quilt to make.  You’ll start by making large blocks, cutting them up, and then rearranging the smaller blocks to create a zigzag effect.  This pattern is out of the Pick Four quilt book.  Finished size: 70-1/2 x 88-1/2”

Tulips in Bloom Class

Tulips in Bloom is a delightful quilt from the booklet, More Fat 8ths and Friends which includes designs inspired by reproduction fabric from the 1930s and 40s. The designer, Marsha McCloskey incorporates the use of Fat 8th cuts of yardage into these projects.  Quilt size:  55” x 70”

Dutch Chain Quilt Class

In this class you will learn a new technique using the Omnigrid On-Point ruler.  DeAnn used the beautiful line of Mill Book 1852 Moda fabrics to create this sample….come in the shop to see it in person!

Chain Link Quilt Class
Sat, August 23rd @ 10am to 3pm

As with all the “interlocking” block patterns, this one is deceptively easy.  Nancy Page offered this block pattern in a newspaper advertisement in the 1930’s for “three cents and a self-addressed, stamped envelope.”  Ah, for the good ol’ days.  Our quilt is made using Aunt Gracie fabrics and finished off with an adorable Prairie Point border!
Finished size: 72 x 81-1/2”

Yay!  The Beginning Quilting Course is here again!  Students will learn step-by-step how to construct a quilt, including selecting fabrics for your quilt project, piecing, borders, binding, and even machine quilting (stitch in the ditch).  Come to Home Grown Quilts to see samples of the quilt you will be making!  NOTE:  Students must know how to use their sewing machines prior to class starting.  It is also highly recommended that students bring a quarter inch foot and a walking foot to class.  See class handout for further information.




 


Winding Ways Quilt Class

This amazing quilt is a WOW! Kind of a quilt…wait till you see it in person!  This quilt is cut out using our Accuquilt Studio cutter.  Students may use the Accuquilt for FREE when you sign up for the class, or you may choose to purchase a kit with the pieces pre-cut (how easy is THAT, right?!).  Plus you’ll love Susie :o)

**Each class has a Supply List. There may be additional class costs for special sewing supplies, such as patterns, or special rulers, etc.  Fabric requirements will be listed.  Once you register for your class and receive your Supply List, you will qualify to receive a 15% discount on all required supplies. To receive the discount, you must have your Supply List with you when you make your purchase.   NOTE:  Students are required to have their own patterns and tools during classes.  This enables the classes to stay on the curriculum schedule rather than having the class wait while students borrow supplies from each other.**
