Quilts of Valor

Photo by: Melisa Bryant of Ida-Lew Economic Development

The Camas Prairie quilting guild called Sew-ciety, participates in Quilts of Valor.

The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover ALL combat service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.
This foundation is not about politics. It's about people.

**********************************************
There are so many areas where you are needed to help serve our veterans who served us.
*We can use all who sew.
- If you want to sew the top of the quilt, you can.
-If you want just to bind the quilts, you can.
-If you just want to sew some squares, you can.
-If you want to finish the whole quilt, you certainly can do that too.
*We can use fabric donations (red/white/blue).
*We can use donation of time
-Make kits.
-iron quilt tops.
*We can use monetary donations.
-Home Grown Quilts will use them to purchase fabric at wholesale prices, so quilters can come in and just pick out fabric and a pattern, then go and make a quilt.
*If you own a quilting machine, we can use your donation of quilting services.
*If you own an embroidery machine, we can use your donation to make labels for the quilts.

Basically, if you are willing to be of service, we have things you can do, even if you aren't a "quilter".

The Sew-ciety quilt guild meets here at Home Grown Quilts every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7pm, or just stop on in whenever you can and we'll put ya to work. :)
