Hi Quilters!
It's BACK!!!
Welcome to our annual UFO (Un-finished Objects) Challenge. This is for BOTH of our store locations!.
In January and February ( and possibly March if there is enough interest) we are giving you the chance to FINISH some of your projects that are just sitting in the corner begging to be finished.
It doesn't matter the stage of your object. It could be that you have
just cut it out.... it could be that you just need to bind the thing...
we don't care.. we just want to empower you to get things done at
whatever stage.... and finish whatever your next part is. You don't have
to "finish" the project in the sense that it has to be quilted and
bound.... your goal could be finishing the blocks, assembling the top,
doing the binding, whatever you want to finish. We don't want to
overwhelm you, just encourage you to progress.
In both of these months bring in up to 3 UFO's no later
than the 10th to register them for $1 each. Return with any or all of
them completed by the last day of the month and for each one finished
your name will be entered into a drawing. We'll draw a name each month
and the winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to the shop!
For quilters, UFOs may be quilts, table runners, or wall hangings or
purses, etc... - no size restrictions. For knitters and crocheters,
anything unfinished on the day of registration is eligible. For
Cross-Stitchers/Embroidery peeps- bring anything in that is unfinished.
We will even
give you another incentive to join our UFO challenge: We'll give you
15% off of any supplies you might need to finish up that project you've
been keeping in the naughty corner.

Service Opportunity:
Here in Grangeville there is a small assisted living facility called Meadowlark Homes.
They assist some spectacular individuals who gave a lot to our community during their active years.
We have had a request from Meadowlark for table runner/table toppers to
help brighten their dining tables. Because the facility cleans and
washes them so often, their old table runners/toppers are looking a
little shabby.
There are 3 tables in total that the residence use . It doesn't matter
the size of the runners or table toppers you donate. It doesn't matter
if there are different table toppers/runners on each individual table-
they are not picky.
It will be so fun to see what happiness you share.
How to Donate:
1) Drop off any finished table runner/table toppers to either Home Grown Quilts locations and we will happily deliver them
2) You are welcome to drop off your table toppers/table runners in
person at Meadowlark - and bonus: possibly have a minute to visit with
the wonderful people who live there. Please make sure you have not been
around illness and are healthy.
3) If you live further out and those options won't work well for you- You are welcome to mail them

EVERY TUESDAY IS FREE OPEN SEW DAY AT BOTH HOME GROWN QUILTS LOCATIONS!! 10AM- 5PM!!!
Classes
NOTE: All class supplies purchased through Home Grown Quilts is 15% off with your paid class fee…sweet deal right?
A few things with classes to be mindful of:
*Please be at least 10 minutes early to all classes so that you can be set up and ready for class to begin on time.
*Please have your class project cut out
PRIOR to class. If you need help understanding instructions, we are
available to guide you through. Please come in and make arrangements for
help BEFORE the day of class.
* Classes are a retreat- for a lot of people it's therapy of sorts. It's a time to have fun, learn together, and relax (unless you have a seam ripper in hand.)
- Please be respectful of your fellow retreaters. While we love kids,
and we have lots of them ourselves- most small children (such as toddlers/pre-k)
seem to find our classes a bit boring. We have had some class members
vocalize the frustration it brings when a relaxing class gets not so
relaxing because of small people being unhappy or bored. Let's let
everyone have a happy experience! Unless a child is an active
participant of the class, please try and find a different place for them
to hang out.

Quick note
about Sewcial, if you sign up for Sewcial, please keep your commitment.
We prepare food for you, and in some cases we have to turn others away
due to lack of space. It isn't considerate or fair all around if you
don't show up. We totally understand that sometimes even with the best
intentions, things come up and you have to bow out- but please let us
know right away if you aren't able to attend.
The
Cost of Friday Night Sewcial is $10. For your $10 you will receive
DINNER and $5 in store credit (good for that night only).
** For you
Lewiston/Clarkston peeps- if a Friday Night Sewcial is something you

Introducing:
Home Grown Quilt's 2025 Quilt Walk Challenge Quilt
(You are welcome to join at ANY time!)
Sedona
by Sew Kind of Wonderful- Using the Quick Curve MINI ruler
Grangeville: This class will take place the 2nd Saturday of each month for 11 months-
*You do
NOT have to take the classes to participate in the overall challenge.
The class is there if you have questions with the blocks of the quilt*
Saturday, January 11th @ 10-1 *Block #8
Saturday, February 8th @ 10-1 *Block #9
Saturday, March 8th @ 10-1 *Block #10
Saturday, April 11th @ 10-1 *Block #11
Instructor: Breezi Kohrman
Class Fee: FREE if you are participating in shop challenge and have purchased your class supplies at Home Grown Quilts
Are you ready to hear about our quilt walk
challenge quilt??? Meet my favorite new quilt, Sedona. She's a curvy
girl that's still got some edgy spots. I have drooled over every
different way she has been made.
The pattern has two different layouts - Sedona Trails 63" X 68" (see the
black/white example where the blocks are in simple rows)
and Sedona Sky 83" X 103" (See the teal/lime/coral/grey example where the blocks are scattered)
YOU get to decide which of the quilt layouts you want to make. They are
both utterly gorgeous- but there is a significant size difference
between the two.
This is a color challenge too.
When you come and sign up to make this quilt- you will also draw a
random color crayon out of a paper bag. That color just has to be
represented SOMEWHERE in the quilt. If you love the
color you have drawn, you may want to make it a main theme- if you draw a
color that might not float your boat as much- put it in one block, the
binding, on the backing, or somewhere creative.
In this pattern there are 11 different blocks (hence the 11 different
classes- one for each block, in the order the book has them in.)
6 blocks have curves and are made with the Sew Kind of Wonderful Quick
Curve MINI ruler. 5 blocks are just regular ol' traditional blocks with
all straight seams and no curves.
Each month I will be hosting a class to teach you how to make the block
of the month. While this may look like a difficult quilt- we are making
this quilt in bite-sized pieces that won't overwhelm you, but hopefully
be purely a delight to make.
ohh... you want to hear about prizes?
Each month you come to the class- you get a ticket to put in the jar. (up to 11 entries)
Each month you finish up the required blocks from the last month's
assignment - you get to put a ticket in the jar. (up to 11 entries)
If you use the color that you drew from the crayon challenge in your quilt- you get a ticket in the jar (1 entry)
If you finish your quilt and let us use it in the quilt walk on Saturday, September 6th 2025 you get a ticket in the jar (1 entry)
What if your ticket gets drawn?!?
YOU WIN A FREE CUSTOM QUILT JOB courtesy of Jody Hoogland - worth up to $250+
Plus we'll probably have random prizes each month during the class too.
Are you excited to try a new challenge?!
Check out some of these ideas:
