The newest class list!

Hi Quilters!
We hope you had a most wonderful 4th of July holiday! Hopefully you got to step inside your sewing room between the BBQ's, company, and fireworks.

We have a surprise at Home Grown Quilts...

No more sweating while you sew. It'll be a nice cool experience for you. We are so excited!
Whenever we don't have any classes going on, we would love for you to grab a project, a friend, and your sewing machine and use our nice cool classroom! You are always welcome :)

We changed the dates around on some of our classes, so be sure that you mark your calendar accordingly.

If you get your lotto block turned in before the last day of the month your name gets put into a jar and we draw a winner, who will receive all of the lotto blocks that have been turned in. We have lots of customers who play by mail- so if you are one of our out of town friends and want to play- Call the shop 208-983-0254 and we can sign you up!

Row by Row Experience:

This year we are participating in the Row by Row Experience! We are so excited!!!  Not sure what that is? We'll tell you!
How about this… it's like a shop hop, but it's not... no fees, no cards to stamp, and all summer to play! Simply visit any of the participating shops and receive a free pattern for a row in a quilt. Combine your rows in any way to create a unique quilt that represents the fun you had traveling throughout the summer. Travel with friends, discover new quilt shops and have fun collecting rows!

Every Tuesday! We offer a classes at 10am and 5:30pm to be sure to fit any schedule!

1st Tuesdays of the month:
We will be teaching Sewing Adviser, Exclusive Sensor System, deLuxe Stitch system, threading, bobbin winding, control panels.
2nd Tuesdays of the month:
We will be teaching feet, including buttonhole, zipper, blind hem, satin stitch, quilting and free motion/darning feet- PLUS a foot of the month!
3rd Tuesdays of the month:
We will be teaching decorative stitching and monogramming.
4th Tuesdays of the month:
We will be teaching embroidery.

We have an AMAZING instructor coming all the way from Vale, Arizona to teach TWO classes at Home Grown Quilts- Swan Sheridan, owner of Swan Amity Studios! We are lucky to have her come and share her talents (you may remember we had her trunk show last summer).


Water Coloring Fabric Class
Wed, July 15th @ 10am-2pm
Cost: $45 (or FREE with Class Pass)

Swan swears you do not need artistic talent to do this class. She also promises you will thoroughly enjoy this class. This class provides the fundamentals of creating watercolor paintings on PFD fabrics. Students use both Inktense color blocks and pencils to draw their design and blend color, making the most of their creativity. Class also covers fixing errors and preparing the painting for quilting.

Here is a student's finished painting after her last class (and the student swore she had no talent at all).



Free Motion Quilt Class
Thurs, July 16th @ 10-2pm
Cost: $45 (or FREE with class pass)

Swan has her own amazing unique style of Free motion that she is willing to share. If you have seen any of her skills, you will RUN to sign up for this class! Filling those small spaces and creating texture in spaces of all size often calls for micro-quilting. Using simple and familiar stippling concepts, micro-quilting becomes a readily available technique that machine quilters are sure to love. This class focuses on three basic stipple shapes that can be manipulated into a variety of micro-quilting fills.

Swan will also have a trunk show on both days of new projects and patterns that combine that with some pattern signing times as well as some Q&A regarding techniques!

Textured Pillow Class
Friday July 24th @ 5:30-8:30
Instructor:Breezi Kohrman
You asked for pillow classes- and we're delivering! We are in love with V and Co's Ombre' fabric line- and these textured pillows make us love it even more.
Pillows are a great way to refresh a room!
During our class time you will learn the techniques for BOTH pillows!

Kid's Camp!
Stuff your Stuff Bag Class

Mon, July 27th @ 9am-1:30 or 2pm

This month we will be making a super cute draw string bag with six outer pockets- perfect for anything you need!
We are asking that you come in before the day of the class to purchase your supplies- so you can help your child
PRE-CUT the fabric. I am hoping that this will stream line the class, and it can go a bit quicker for the kids.
Also, we are limiting the class size to 10 kids~ so register early.

Exploding Pineapple Quilt

Christmas is a season of love and sharing.  The 12 Months of Christmas embodies this spirit of giving to those you truly love.  Enjoy and share the spirit of these delightful and easy monthly blocks.  Blocks are machine or hand appliqued.  Block #1 class begins December 30th, and each block will be taught by DeAnn on the last Monday each month at 5:30 to 8:30pm through November 2015.  There will be a class to put your finished blocks together…I’m sensing a Christmas cookie exchange party with this class!
Finished size: 65” x 80” completed quilt

Every 1st & 3rd Tues evenings, 7:00pm to 8:30pm
Come join us!...everyone is welcome to join and we encourage new members!  The Guild dues are only $15 per year and we meet at Home Grown Quilts.

There may be additional class costs for special sewing supplies, such as patterns, or special rulers, etc.  Fabric requirements will be listed.  Once you register for your class and receive your Supply List, you will qualify to receive a 15% discount on all required supplies. Summer Classes!

             

Hi Quilters!
We're getting ready for lots of summer fun over here! From this HUGE Husqvarna Viking Sewing event on Thursday and Friday, to our Red Tag Sale going on for the WHOLE MONTH of June -not just one day only!- on Husqvarna Viking Sewing machines (come in store for details!) , to the Row by Row experience that's going on from  June 21st to Sept 8th- and everything in between!

Also we're super pumped to announce that Jody and Janet just got back from their training in Tennessee- and we are now a CERTIFIED HUSQVARNA VIKING REPAIR FACILITY! Bring your machines in- we're ready for you!

Viking Event!

We are SO SUPER excited to announce our Husqvarna Viking Open House!!  We got so lucky and have **Gail Kellogg,one of the most requested Viking Educators, coming to our Shop June 11and 12. She's a smart and funny lady, with lots to show and share with us.

So let's get busy with it! Experience a day of pure fascination watching a trunk show showcasing awesome sewing techniques. Get inspired and informed with Gail's demo's using Husqvarna Viking sewing and embroidery machines, accessories, etc.

Gail is a passionate teacher, and has shared her fascination for sewing with consumers for over 30 years.  Her former retail and educational roles have given her a deeper perspective when leading all the fun and instructional SVP events she travels to nationwide.  She has sewn and taught many projects focused on heirloom quilting, piecing, home décor, vintage doll wardrobes using the original patterns, children’s clothing and felting.  Gail finds that creating a fashionable garment, creative home project, or handmade gift is one of the most highly satisfying crafts for home sewers at any skill level, and loves to show her event attendees how anyone can accomplish that on today’s sewing and embroidery machines.

New Classes March-May

Hello Quilters!

We got the first shipment of Husqvarna Vikings in last week and they are set up and ready for you to demo- We have more machines coming in, which have due to extreme weather conditions in the east- have been delayed a bit.... hopefully they will get here soon, as we are dying to have them!

To make room for our Husqvarna Vikings we are switching up the shop a bit- and this week all of our buttons are a whopping 50% off (excluding nickel buttons). We have decided to no longer carry buttons, except for the nickel buttons- so get them while you can! We've got lots and lots- from novelty down to plain.

                             

Just so you can have it on your calendar, March 21st from 11-1pm we will be participating in the Grangeville Merchant's Chili Feed and contest. Visit all of your local merchants for a sample of chili and vote for your favorite! What a great way to get to know all of us!

Christmas is a season of love and sharing.  The 12 Months of Christmas embodies this spirit of giving to those you truly love.  Enjoy and share the spirit of these delightful and easy monthly blocks.  Blocks are machine or hand appliqued.  Block #1 class begins December 30th, and each block will be taught by DeAnn on the last Monday each month at 5:30 to 8:30pm through November 2015.  There will be a class to put your finished blocks together…I’m sensing a Christmas cookie exchange party with this class!
