April/May Classes

Here’s the scoop of calendar events:

Sew-Cial
Bring your quilt, crochet, applique, needle punch…or whatever your project may be and come sew with us! We are known to make a hot loaf of yummy bread with ohhhhh so delicious honey butter to enjoy!

Holiday Houses Class
Instructor: Jody Hoogland
These will be held the 1^st Friday evening each month during our Midnite Sew-Cial (except in April…the Holiday House Class will be on the 2^nd Friday as there will not be a Sew-Cial on Apr 5^th.  The Holiday House hangings are awesome and display nicely on scrolled table stands, available at Home Grown Quilts. 
$15 per class + pattern.  Class fee includes all other supplies
Finished Size: 12”X14.5”

Baltimore Album Club
Instructor:  Arlene Perrine
These classes will be held during our Midnite Sew-Cial, and anyone can join the fun at any time.  A new Baltimore Album block will be taught each month, and before years’ end, you will have 12 blocks made for a quilt or several wall hangings (or table toppers)!
$10 per class + book and supplies
Finished Size:  10-1/2” blocks

Crochet Club
Instructor: Renee Wright
For beginners and beyond! Meet with us for great tips and techniques as well as start a crochet project. Bring your own pattern for assistance, or our wonderful instructor Renee Wright will get you started on a project that she will teach you.

Knitting Club
Instructor: Elayne Murphy
For beginners to accomplished knitters!  Come and learn great tips and techniques as well as start a knitting project. Just like the Crochet Club, bring your own pattern for assistance, or our award winning knitting instructor Elayne Murphy get you started on a project that she will teach you.

Hawaiian Quilt class & Luau!
Instructor:  Jody Hoogland & Gayle Cotterell
Learn Nancy Lee Chong’s stress-free approach to needle turn applique and hand quilting while you make your Hawaiian quilt.  The results are stunning!   PLUS, how about an authentic Hawaiian Luau at our class?  Come and don on a lei and learn lei etiquette, the custom of Aloha and shake your grass skirt!
Class Fee: $20 + supplies.  Includes lunch (or supper for the evening class)!

1 Fish 2 Fish Quilt Class
Instructor:  Arlene Perrine
This is a fun Cozy Quilt Designs strip quilt that goes together fairly quickly.  There are kits available for a limited time if you prefer to use a kit for this class.
Recommended:  Strip Tube ruler
Finished quilt size: Throw: 52 sq., Twin: 70 x 87, King: 105 sq.
Class Fee: $10 + pattern & supplies.

Fresh Cut Quilt Class
Instructor:  Arlene Perrine
This is a fun to make 3-D looking quilt!  We do have kits available (while they last) if you would prefer to use a kit for this class.  Uses the Straight Out of Line (CGRKA3) by Creative Grids
Finished quilt size is 62in x 78in
Class Fee: $10 + pattern & supplies.

Mon, May 6^th  5:30p to 8:30pm
Apple Pie Quilt Class
Instructor:  Kathleen Walker
This delicious quilt featuring Riley Blake Designs is fun to make.  Learn to do simple machine applique  on the apples in the quilt.  There are a few kits left if you would prefer to use a kit for this class.
Finished quilt size is 58" x 68".
Class Fee: $10 + pattern & supplies.

Connect The Dots Quilt class
Instructor:  Kathleen Walker
Using the More Take 5 Quilts book, you will be making the cutest quilt EVER!  We will teach you to make perfect circles using  Circle Cutter ruler.  There are kits available for a limited time if you prefer to use a kit for this class.  Note:  Yes, we really ARE playing Twister on the quilt!
Finished quilt size:   67” x 85”

Martingale Book Club
Martingale is a publisher specializing in books and patterns on quilting, sewing, knitting, crochet, and crafts. Each month we receive a shipment of brand new items from Martingale, as well as from other distributors. This club will meet monthly, and it is FREE. Join us anytime during these hours for a preview of new books that come in during the month….you will be the 1^st to see them! Club members will receive 20% off books and supplies to make projects in the books. Discount only good during Book Club hours. We are a Super Stitcher Shop!

Moroccan Tile Table Topper class
Instructor:  Arlene Perrine
A ten sided shape, new to the quilting world, can be easily accomplished with the new Jewel Box tools. The Moroccan Tile quilt is made with an array of rainbow fabrics. Instructions are in booklet form with full color graphics.

Turning Twenty Class

 We had such a fun Turning-Twenty class today!  These ladies ROCK!  Seriously, they just knocked out their quilts zippity fast and were a hoot to hang around.

We just love these Turning Twenty quilts. What a great way to use fat quarters.

We are so proud of these lovely quilters- their talent is amazing.
