Classes, Quilt Walk, and more!

Hi Quilters!

We had a BLAST at the Crazy 8 Shop Hop- it was so fun to see a lot of you! Thanks for coming to visit and chat with us!

It's that time again to send your kids off to school (hooray!), what a great time to show the kids that you can learn too, by signing up for some classes.

We have revised our class policies a bit- so please pay attention to them. Lately we have heard concerns about classes not ending on time, especially pertaining to Kid's Camp classes. We will try hard to have your child complete projects in class during the designated class time.  In order to accomplish this, the child must be in their seat, machine ready to go and their project pre-cut at starting time.  If you are late, or if the project is not precut, then your child will most likely not get his/her project completed in class. If the project is not completed in class and your child needs instructions, we can try to make arrange a time to meet. With Kids classes the instructor usually make the patterns up- which means there is usually  not a physical pattern to hand out if your kiddo doesn't finish the project. All of these requests we are making are so everyone gets quality instruction time and projects will be completed within the time frame scheduled. We will no longer be going over in class time.  If you as a parent/grandparent/aunt/uncle/etc have questions about pre-cutting, please come in before the day of the class and we will be happy to help. We love your talented kids, we are thankful for them- they really are amazing! We hope that things will run more smoothly in the future.

We have some exciting announcements coming in the near future- like BIG EXCITING THINGS... and we can't wait to share! Stay tuned!

Until then, sit back with your calendar and a cool refreshing drink, and pick the classes you are going to sign up for :)

We'll see you soon!
From our laps to yours,
Jody and the gals at Home Grown Quilts

Row by Row Experience:

This year we are participating in the Row by Row Experience! We are so excited!!!  Not sure what that is? We'll tell you!
How about this… it's like a shop hop, but it's not... no fees, no cards to stamp, and all summer to play! Simply visit any of the participating shops and receive a free pattern for a row in a quilt. Combine your rows in any way to create a unique quilt that represents the fun you had traveling throughout the summer. Travel with friends, discover new quilt shops and have fun collecting rows!

Please see the Row by Row website for a complete list of rules.

This year our row was designed by Swan Sheridan of Swan Amity Studios. We were so lucky to have her trunk show with us last summer- but we are even luckier she agreed to design our gorgeous row! Please go to her website http://swanamity.com/ and like her on Facebook.

Over & Under Quilt Class
Saturday, Sept 26th @ 10-3pm
Instructor: Breezi Kohrman
We are starting a new series- We understand that sometimes quilting is financially hard, and yet- you yearn to create and beautify your world. We also understand that when you are a beginning quilter you want to make easy yet gorgeous quilts and it is easy to get lost on a project that is frustrating and never ending. We also understand that advanced sewers need quick projects that are gorgeous that you can finish in less than a day.
Here is the solution to all of that!
We are doing 4 classes that come out of ONE book-  Scrap-basket Sensations.
That's right... you purchase one book for FOUR classes. The quilts can come from scraps or a brand new jelly roll. And.... these quilts were put together from first cut to last stitch on the borders in under 8 hours (including time to referee 4 crazy kids).
Class Fee: $10 (or FREE with Class Pass)

The blocks look tricky- but I promise they aren't. You'll have yourself some cuddly Hedgehogs in no time.
